Lecture about the importance of organizational context in Taylor

The American engineer Frederick W. Taylor (1856-1915) adopted a series of procedures in order to increase production and reduce costs. For Taylor, managing a company should be regarded as a science, with technical rationalization of work in a scientific organization is therefore regarded as a precursor of scientific management.
Taylor believed that the tasks should be compatible with the skills of workers so that they could get a maximum performance with great efficiency. In 1911 he published the book "Principles of Scientific Management" which stated their main ideas. Among them goals to achieve minimum production; division of labor, wage incentives, recognition of the work; emphasis on efficiency.
Among the benefits of the method of Taylor that wages have increased, employees began to feel more valued, the workload was increased to eight hours and did the rest paid. Already the main criticism is that the model ignores the needs of workers doing labor work increasingly gaining relatively less and have their health impaired by too much commitment.
