Human Dignity

What is human dignity and that it can help us as a society.
All people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act in relation to each other in a spirit of brotherhood. (Art. 1 Universal Declaration of Human Rights)
What is dignity? Dignity is acting based on ethical principles, and ethical, and summarized in simplistic terms, is not intentionally cause harm to others. So we can also say that a worthy person is someone who does not want to do harm to others.
What is this that I mentioned Mal? To effect the foregoing, Mal would be the physical or psychological suffering. That way we could still put it, a decent person is one who does not want to intentionally cause suffering to others.
But when someone or a country restricts the freedom of others, whether by unjust laws or dogmas, cause suffering to these people, and worse, intentionally!
"When one realizes that it is contrary to the dignity of man to obey unjust laws, no tyranny can enslave him. (Mahatma Gandhi)
For a long time women did not understand the sexist norms imposed on them, and why not submit to men, from the moment you become aware that these standards were harmful and the origin of many of his sufferings, fought and still fight for have equal rights to men and hardly accept return to the previous state.
But it's not for lack of trying, the old rulers intentionally try to take that awareness of them, want to sell a new prison as if it were a 5 star hotel.
Irreproachable conduct is to maintain each of their dignity without undermining the freedom of others. (Voltaire)
Suffice us all we sought to act in a dignified manner so that everyone could enjoy the freedom and rights that we all want for ourselves, but the power play and domination of certain groups and individuals with unmeasured ambitions do not want to be sympathetic to that point, because if all understand that we have a right to dignity, then the dictators and elitist groups would be unable to manipulate us and submit to unjust laws by imposing for their own narrow benefit.
If you always act with dignity, may not be able to change the world, but it will be a scoundrel less. (Millor Fernandes).
Today, we are still at the beginning of a struggle to educate people who have a gender identity or sexuality that differs from most to react against the prejudice that bring us pain, that hurt us. It is a fight FOR our dignity, not wanting to show that we are worthy as a group, because dignity is shown individually. It is a fight for our state stimulates the action of its citizens to avoid the suffering that minority public and especially the intentional evil as in the case of homophobia, meaning that their citizens are worthy.
Art. 3. The fundamental objectives of the Federative Republic of Brazil:
I - build a free, just and solidary society; (Federal Constitution)
No other way to human solidarity but to demand and respect for individual dignity exists. (Pierre Nouy)
How to defend a state that claims to be its fundamental solidarity objective, if it does not seek to be worthy of their citizens, ie they act and live together without causing harm to another? As this state may allow some rights have intentionally harm other people want to ensure that all are equal before the law?
That which thou canst not control, does not ordain. (Socrates)
To finish the thought, society can not oppress people according to their sexuality, gender identity, national origin, social status, ethnicity etc, because they are things that are beyond control, beyond the decree no longer be homosexual or transsexual for sanction of a law, no one will have changed their place of birth, no one will change the color of your skin etc. Thus, it is not simple, sympathetic, humane and WORTHY simply ensures that those parts of the population the same rights as others? And why allow, driven by unfounded particular beliefs, people can act without dignity promoting violence, discrimination and prejudice against these people? We are saying enough of tyranny, enough hypocrisy, enough to undergo silent unjust laws. Let's enforce the fundamental goals of this country, let's create a decent society, causing everyone in fact have equal rights, after all, we're really all the same: human, even with all our diversity.
